Status: Critically Endangered Population: 30 - 200 Found: Colombia The Niceforo’s Wren is found in dry forest habitat above 800m of altitude and has a song made up of several low-pitched whistles with some higher notes. This species is found in only a few sites in Colombia’s East Andes range and it is estimated that the already small population is in on-going decline mainly due to the spread of agriculture. Shika Shika is currently preparing the third Volume of the ‘Birdsong’ series which will focus on endangered birds in Western Africa.
