Jamaican Blackbird

The Jamaican Blackbird is endemic to the island and unique amongst blackbirds as it feeds much like a woodpecker. It can only be found in the mountainous forests of Jamaica’s Cockpit Country, and in the John Crow and Blue Mountains. The species is considered Endangered mainly due to the threat posed to its habitat by Bauxite mining.
