Critically Endangered Population: 50 -249 Found: Bolivia, Peru Found in small, woodlands and montane scrub, the Remolinera’s song is a high-pitched trill. It can mainly be found in south eastern Peru and western Bolivia. It is considered Critically Endangered mainly because of the continuous degradation of its unique forest habitat due to grazing and deforestation for timber and charcoal. Shika Shika is currently preparing the third Volume of the ‘Birdsong’ series which will focus on endangered birds in Western Africa.
