Tim Vitek is an electronic music producer, visual artist and audio engineer based in Chicago. Vitek is the owner of Grid Based Beats, a techno imprint and music production company. Vitek started Grid Based Beats in 2012 with the sole intent of releasing high quality music and premium sample packs. In addition to his own label, Vitek’s current discography includes music and remixes on the following labels: EUR, UKR, Chicago Jaxxx, Format Recordings and Secre Techno. Further, Vitek is a content creator with Native Instruments’ “Sounds.com” and creates exclusive sample packs for the platform. Vitek is also the host of the "Grid Based Beats Podcast" on www.fnoobtechno.com. His monthly radio show features music from local techno producers and reaches a global audience. Vitek has been running his monthly radio show since 2016. Vitek has been producing electronic music for the last two decades. His first major remix was in 1997 for Cascade’s “Heaven In Your Eyes” on XDUB Recordings. He later co-founded Digerati Music, which led to a production and distribution agreement with High Octane Recordings and Tommie Sunshine's label, Xylophone Jones Recordings in 2002. Vitek was also a definitive player in the 1990s Midwest Rave movement with his signature live sets, playing regularly for parties thrown by Pure and Vibeonauts.
