Introducing Vallechi, who announces himself to the world with debut single ‘Hold’. Faced with a changing planet, new ways of living are emerging. Our connections to ourselves, to nature and to sound are deepening. We heal together, or not at all. Sound artist Vallechi builds a sonic journey which taps into the recesses of our inner-most being, awakening feelings of self-connection and melancholia, impelled by a desire to initiate positive change in the world and to help us understand our fundamental place in it. It’s with that that Vallechi emerges with ‘Hold’ – the title track from an eventual debut EP. The concept for the ‘Hold’ EP is centered around the ideas of holding on to hope, strength, and finding resilience in the face of adversity. The sound world of the release is informed by Vallechi tapping into the mind frame he was in when he first moved to London in 2011 and had the first-hand experience of watching the London riots unfold in real time. The event would have a lasting impact on the artist’s work and worldview, and this debut collection of tracks is notably marked by samples which recall the experience of seeing people come together to collectively fight for that which they believe in.
