Kamanchya is a series of three songs. It is the very first recording of the encounter between French Armenian jazz pianist Sarkis Ricci and the Rajasthani music gurus Divana Ensemble. Never minding the cultural gap, for a week the artists jammed together under the direction of legendary world music producer Alain Weber, only to find a common language to express their passion of rhythm and sound. More than a song, each track is an Indian mythology tale shared by Divana and translated with Sarkis to recite a musical poem together. The visual is an IA generated loop that was fed videos of the studio recordings to be reinterpreted in the styles of artists of each part of the world the band members come from. The whole project was brought together by the Portuguese art house Haize.
